Responsive Design for Mobile Devices
March 3, 2014 Article by Dylan Williams
Smartphones and mobile devices have arguably overtaken traditional desktop and laptop PCs as the primary method used to access the internet.
The majority of websites will still work on a mobile device but many will look, well, a bit small. Anyone who has had to "pinch zoom" and move a page around, just to read a headline, will know what we mean.
Responsive web design is the method of designing websites for a multitude of screen sizes and devices, giving the user the optimal experience when visiting that site.
In a nutshell, the website layout is fluid - it resizes and reshapes itself according to the screen size, looking good on any device. The infographic above illustrates how the Websimple website appears on different devices.
At Websimple, we are delighted to now offer responsive design as part of our web design offering as an option for both new and existing websites.
